- Your lips might feel slightly swollen. This is normal. Softly apply ice in plastic to the top of your lips. This will reduce swelling and keep your lips from becoming wet with water.
- Before bed, gently clean your lips with water only and apply the ointment to maintain good condition for your lips.
- For the first week, use only water to wash your lips. Pat gently to dry and apply a thin layer of LIP Healing Balm.
- Do not rub or pick at the dry flaky skin or scabs. Allow your lips to heal.
- Avoid makeup, tanning, swimming, soaking in water, excessive sweating, sauna, spicy food, and kissing.
- Drink through a straw for the first week after the procedure.
- Do not let your lips dry out. Continue to apply ointment throughout the day to moisturize your lips.
What to expect in the first 7-10 days:
- Swelling and bruising is normal for the first few days. To relieve the swelling, you can ice the area with soft gel ice packs.
- Slight stinging sensation or soreness for the first few days is normal.
- You will experience dry, flaky lips for the first 3-5 days. Once the pigment flakes off, it will appear as though the pigment is not retained. The color will gradually bloom to a soft shade 6-8 weeks after ALL the flakes peel off.
- A touch-up appointment is usually necessary and can be completed any time after 6 weeks from the initial appointment.
